2025-11-10 17:30:22 +0100 <geekosaur> that is odd

2025-11-10 07:52:55 +0100 <deebo_> hmm mate-notification still draws over the top panel, desktopConfig/mateConfig makes no difference (one seems to use the other anyhow), and the mate specific configs dont have any offsets or anything

2025-11-10 01:09:07 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> So I tested more, and the menu opens, when you click the 'K' button on panel, but nothing after that. Menu closes as soon as it opens so you never see it. Same behavior as without patch.
2025-11-09 22:47:31 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Hopefully that should work. If not, I'll have to find a standalone panel and systray that actually work well for application switching, a pager for workspaces/virtual desktops, and a systray
2025-11-09 22:46:18 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I have 7 more years on 22.04. If nothing happens by then, I'll switch to Trinity Desktop, based on KDE 3.5.10, the best KDE version
2025-11-09 22:37:39 +0100 <geekosaur> yes, I get mail for all of them
2025-11-09 22:37:08 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> https://github.com/xmonad/xmonad/issues/174#issuecomment-3508857781 my new comment.
2025-11-09 22:36:52 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> But I posted
2025-11-09 22:35:44 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Well I didn't just apply the patch, I modified the functions intellingently. I'm hashborgir on the github and I usually post updates to the patch for new releases, but I only do what the original author did. I don't know what else was changed in plasma code.
2025-11-09 22:32:53 +0100 <geekosaur> yeh, there's a bunch of different versions of the patch in there because it changes seemingly with every KDE version
2025-11-09 22:32:18 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Oh ok, thank you
2025-11-09 22:32:14 +0100 <geekosaur> since KDE's not interested in supporting us
2025-11-09 22:32:03 +0100 <geekosaur> post on the issue so the patch author can come up with an updated patch; this has happened a number of times
2025-11-09 22:30:35 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I guess I'm stuck on 22.04 for a while.
2025-11-09 22:30:13 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I applied it, built it, installed it, and click menu and nothing pops up. 😕
2025-11-09 22:29:50 +0100 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> https://github.com/xmonad/xmonad/issues/174 This patch no longer works on KDE plasma in 25.10
