2021-08-24 01:27:57 +0200 <dminuoso> Hi. The middle mouse click, how does that actually cause text to appear in a given window?
2021-08-24 01:28:42 +0200 <geekosaur> selections are complicated
2021-08-24 01:29:53 +0200 <geekosaur> the program has to recognize some kind of "get the current selection" request (middle click, ctrl-insert, etc.), then negotiate with the holder of the current selection to agree on a type for it
2021-08-24 01:30:18 +0200 <geekosaur> then transfer the result, which it's up to the program to insert
2021-08-24 01:32:25 +0200 <dminuoso> I see. So if I middle clicked on a terminal, it's actually just the terminal that sets KeyPressMask in the event mask, and then interpreted the middle mouse click as a request to get XA_PRIMARY
2021-08-24 01:32:34 +0200 <dminuoso> Is this about right?
2021-08-24 01:33:20 +0200 <geekosaur> yes, roughly
2021-08-24 01:34:00 +0200 <dminuoso> Cheers, that's helpful.
2021-08-24 01:35:26 +0200 <dminuoso> Oh, and that'd be Button*Mask, for some suitable number Id have to look up.
2021-08-24 01:35:33 +0200 <dminuoso> Rather than KeyPressMask

2021-08-24 07:22:04 +0200 <Solid> elonsroadster[m]: not the functions itself, I meant more the module as a whole
2021-08-24 07:22:21 +0200 <Solid> it contains a tiny example of how to use spacingRaw in some unknown configuration and that's about it
2021-08-24 07:25:15 +0200 <elonsroadster[m]> Solid just not sure I understand why you keep trying the undeprecation to documentation

2021-08-24 07:27:34 +0200 <Solid> I think you misunderstood me; I was saying that more documentation may help users to actually understand what spacingRaw is supposed to be and not trip up on it
2021-08-24 07:27:48 +0200 <Solid> this is orthogonal to undeprecating these functions yes

2021-08-24 09:42:40 +0200 <dminuoso> geekosaur: Thanks again. My issue was that in weechat with `/mouse enable`, the middle mouse buttom would keep pasting. I now realized that the raw mode that xfce4-terminal provides seems to be "broken", because it wont pass the middle mouse click through to the raw terminal application.
2021-08-24 09:42:54 +0200 <dminuoso> Switching to a different terminulator helped.
