2022-12-29 01:34:31 +0100 <geekosaur> @tell diep one thing I didn't mention is that XKill doesn't kill the process, as the X server may not have permissions or even know what process (consider a remote connection). It closes the server socket corresponding to the window's client. Most clients will catch an error on their next X11 operation and die, but one in e.g. an infinite loop won't notice
2022-12-29 01:34:31 +0100 <lambdabot> Consider it noted.

2022-12-29 22:46:54 +0100 <HB[m]> When you move a tiled window with mouse it becomes floated, IIRC. You can then tile it again using mod+t
2022-12-29 22:47:31 +0100 <HB[m]> * using mod+t. Yup that's the one.
2022-12-29 22:49:00 +0100 <geekosaur> HB[m], see the module I pointed to
2022-12-29 22:51:14 +0100 <HB[m]> That I didn't know about. Nice functionality.
2022-12-29 22:52:41 +0100 <HB[m]> You know what's funny? I use Xmonad, but I rarely use the tiling feature...
2022-12-29 22:52:52 +0100 <HB[m]> How crazy is that?
2022-12-29 22:54:23 +0100 <HB[m]> Most of my windows, like 99% are full screen. Heh. I just like Xmonad and how Sane it is.

2022-12-29 22:56:03 +0100 <HB[m]> Ever since Gimp started doing a single window application with all toolsboxes in MDI window layout, switched to Full. Default is FULL for every workspace. I rarely need to go out of full screen, due to the Terminal scratchpads.

2022-12-29 22:59:05 +0100 <HB[m]> I can call upon an editor, a console, and a scratch browser anywhere I am, on top of any workspace, so tiling doesn't seem to fit in with my workflow.
2022-12-29 22:59:05 +0100 <HB[m]> When I do development however, I need to look at multiple things at once, then I find myself tiling. But sometimes it's just easier to use GNU screen and split it in a custom layout, and keybinds to move around, including mouse.
2022-12-29 22:59:29 +0100 <HB[m]> * custom layout, instead of Xmonad tiling, and keybinds
