2022-12-06 03:03:57 +0100 <[Leary]> @tell thyriaen There's an alt+tab PR I made recently, but it's still a WIP. I need to commit some new changes before it's ready for more testing. I can ping you about it, if you want to test it.
2022-12-06 03:03:57 +0100 <lambdabot> Consider it noted.
2022-12-06 03:04:20 +0100 <geekosaur> oh, is that what I was trying to remember
2022-12-06 03:05:48 +0100 <geekosaur> yep, that's it. knew I shoulda checked the PRs
2022-12-06 03:10:39 +0100 <liskin> speaking of alttab, https://github.com/sagb/alttab isn't too bad
2022-12-06 03:11:06 +0100 <liskin> it's out of xmonad but you get a nice ui as a compensation :-)

2022-12-06 11:58:07 +0100 <thyriaen> geekosaur, i have removed focustracking from my settings, due to that multi monitor bug ( sending screen underneeth ) -- however now i get this strange issue that when i have a floating window ontop of a tabbed layout, it switches tabs when the floating window gets focus -- how can i fix it without focustracking ?
2022-12-06 12:02:48 +0100 <[Leary]> thyriaen: It's not a strange issue, it's exactly what focusTracking was fixing. Try replacing it with X.L.TrackFloating.trackFloating, which is the same but has a fix for the issue.
2022-12-06 12:06:08 +0100 <thyriaen> [Leary], ah nice
2022-12-06 12:06:10 +0100 <thyriaen> and with that i won
2022-12-06 12:06:36 +0100 <thyriaen> i won't have the issue that it will put the windows i switch to different monitors underneath everything instead of on top ?
2022-12-06 12:21:41 +0100 <[Leary]> thyriaen: Probably---try it and find out. The fix that that version has just makes it a somewhat better shim; there will still be quirks if you look hard enough.
2022-12-06 12:22:34 +0100 <thyriaen> [Leary], i will try it later today -- thanks a lot
2022-12-06 12:23:20 +0100 <thyriaen> [Leary], let me know about the alt tab thingy if you want me to test it
2022-12-06 12:23:55 +0100 <[Leary]> Cool, will do.
2022-12-06 12:24:12 +0100 <thyriaen> [Leary], does it have visual feedback ?
2022-12-06 12:26:02 +0100 <[Leary]> Yes, the default behaviour focuses the windows as you tab through them.
2022-12-06 12:26:35 +0100 <thyriaen> ah yea, that is even better than having a overlay pop up like on windows for example - now that i think about it

2022-12-06 18:28:17 +0100 <geekosaur> some terminals have the ability for an appropriately configured shell to put its cwd where it can be accessed for this (I used to use this on MacOS). I don't know off the top of my head how one accesses it
2022-12-06 18:28:41 +0100 <geekosaur> and it requires you to use a prompt function that exports the cwd to the terminal emulator
